I believe 90's was the best period of my life. India wasn't so rich that time. there were not too many foreign brands available in market, there was not Internet...nevertheless those were the happiest days of my life... in summer holidays i used to play Mario, contra at my friends house. more than 10 friends used to play on only one video game. now everybody has high-tech computer games but still there is no fun like playing mario with your friends on one video game.
I was in std 8th, one of my friend showed us AIRGUN.it was a replica of real police gun.. in next couple of days each of my friend started playing with their own airguns. we enjoyed real CHOR-POLICE game with airguns..no more dhiskyaw-dishkyaw sounds..
Ever heard this tag line- "BRITANNIA KHAO WORLD CUP JAO" yes!! at the time of 1999 Cricket world cup Britannia launched this contest..I used to beg everybody for the wrapper of Britannia biscuits. I bought 5/6 biscuits packs one time just to make 100 RUNS. and i won my 1st ever lucky draw price in this contest.
I don't remember when i started using word 'SAHI'. it is the Indian word for 'cool'. guys if you know anything about this then tell me where is the origin of this word. there are many more interesting words and lines like Aarsaa, tingya, sang sang sang tujhi dadhi mishi lamb....., Angat nahi jiv kartoy chiv chiv..( tell me some more :) )
now everybody plays farm ville, fish ville etc on computers. but in my childhood we spent days by playing Dabba Aiss paaiss, Tipi Tipi Tip Top, wish amrut, dagad ka mati...now i dont see anybody playing these games. in wish- amrut i always used the word TAMPLIZ to take a little rest. i didn't know the meaning of this word. it is actually TIME PLEASE. i came to know about this when i went to college. and remember we used to wet our hand while saying Tampliz and if your hand is dry then your tampliz is over. who created this 'International' Rule? :)

before Discovery , National Geographic channel there was only comprehensive guide to the culture of India. One and only 'SURABHI'
Siddharth Kak and Renuka shahane and heaps of letters in front of them. i remember my dad sending answer of the question on PRATIYOGITA POSTCARD every week. whenever i watch this title song i get goosebumps and i remember me watching surabhi sitting on my dad's lap :) Doordarshan really rocked in 90s. there are some other nostalgic must watch TV shows saved in my heart like Street hawk, hum panch, tu tu main main.
